| My Wedding Preparation Checklist (Any Suggestions?) | | Hi Guys!I am new here and our wedding is on May 2, 2008. Since I keep on discussing details of our wedding with people, hence increasing the number of our wedding guests, I decided to participate in this forum to earn extra cash for the wedding and enable myself to discuss my millions of wedding ideas and issues to relieve my self from preparation stress.
6 months before the wedding and we have already chosen a wedding theme, bridal entourage members and wedding rings; we have already booked wedding chapel, reception venue, photo and video supplier, wedding dress designer, caterers and wedding musicians.
But we still need to do the ff:1. Finalize the design of our wedding invitation.
2. Choose flowers to be used in the bridal bouquet, entourage bouquet and wedding chapel.
3. Select wedding favors
4. Select gifts to be given to parents (as thank you gifts)
5. Select tokens to be given to bridal entourage.
6. Choose wedding cake designs.
Our wedding theme is semi-modern Hispanic (Spanish) and our color motifs are red, turquoise and dark brown. I will be wearing a lacy white wedding gown and we booked a historical/classic wedding church and reception venue (indoor). We will... | |

| | Gift Bags for Party Guests--Do you Give Them? | | Ok here is the background on this one. Tomorrow is my grandson's second birthday. We are having a small get together at my house for family and I told my daughter that she is welcome to invite any close friends. I think there are only one "friend" guest with two small children that may possibly be attending. The other guests are all family...grandparents on both sides, great grandparents, aunts and the parents of the birthday boy. Here's the situation. My daughter's mother in law wants to do gift bags for all the guests. She has already taken my grandson to have 2 year old pictures made and we will all be getting pictures. I told my daughter that a picture is enough, we don't need thank you gifts. However, the Mother in law is standing firm and wanting thank you gifts. Now I could see a little goodie bag being put together for the kids, but I don't see the point for all the family, who will already be getting a picture. What's your take on this? Do you give gift bags out to all guests at your children's birthday parties? Goodie bags for the kids only? Or do you think this is a waste of time and money? | |

Unfortunately the downs have been really prevalent in my life lately. But, I try to push my spirits up. Surrounding myself with the things that bring me joy is definitely helping. My tree is up and decorated. The house smells of homemade goodies. Today I am making whoopie pies, homemade rolls, and donuts. Sunday is our family Christmas celebration and I always bake up goodies to share with my family. It is something that I have done for 25 plus years. | | Gift Bags for Party Guests--Do you Give Them? | | Ok here is the background on this one. Tomorrow is my grandson's second birthday. We are having a small get together at my house for family and I told my daughter that she is welcome to invite any close friends. I think there are only one "friend" guest with two small children that may possibly be attending. The other guests are all family...grandparents on both sides, great grandparents, aunts and the parents of the birthday boy. Here's the situation. My daughter's mother in law wants to do gift bags for all the guests. She has already taken my grandson to have 2 year old pictures made and we will all be getting pictures. I told my daughter that a picture is enough, we don't need thank you gifts. However, the Mother in law is standing firm and wanting thank you gifts. Now I could see a little goodie bag being put together for the kids, but I don't see the point for all the family, who will already be getting a picture. What's your take on this? Do you give gift bags out to all guests at your children's birthday parties? Goodie bags for the kids only? Or do you think this is a waste of time and money? | |

Unfortunately the downs have been really prevalent in my life lately. But, I try to push my spirits up. Surrounding myself with the things that bring me joy is definitely helping. My tree is up and decorated. The house smells of homemade goodies. Today I am making whoopie pies, homemade rolls, and donuts. Sunday is our family Christmas celebration and I always bake up goodies to share with my family. It is something that I have done for 25 plus years. I don't think or imagine that this thank word irritates some one or he/she will not accept..Its a expression of gratitude..
