Would you live in a barn?
I can't imagine that I would ever want to live in a barn. It doesn't seem like it would be too comfortable. Perhaps, because there are no air conditioners or heaters in a barn. And, I would not like living with the animals or bugs. And, where would you take a shower? Under the garden hose?Maybe if I were a child, then I might think of it as an adventure and have lots of fun living in a barn. But, being an adult, I'm way more practical. Would you ever live in a barn?
Dont touch my door!
What on earth would possess someone that is walking by a store to just come up and shut the door. Not coming in at all, just come up and shut the door. I didnt not ask you to close it. You arent even coming in here. So dont touch my door. Seriously. Wtf. Okay heres what happened. Someone came into the store. She was handicapped, in a wheelchair. Our doors are capable of staying propped open once they are open. So im helping her and this freaking lady walks up looks at me and shuts the door. Hello?! Theres a person in a wheel chair...that door needs to stay open! Are you mentally retarded?! Ugh! It wasnt that big of a deal for me to go open it but honestly who does that? Why would you do that? You arent even coming in here! So dont touch my door!

for those born some time ago
FOR THOSE BORN SOME TIME AGO We were born before television. before penicillin. polio shots. frozen foods, Xerox. plastics, contact lenses, Videos, Frisbees and the Pill. We were before radar. credit cards, split atoms, laser beams and ball point pens,' before dishwashers. tumble dryers, electric blankets, air conditioners and before man walked on the moon. We got married first and then lived together (how quaint can you be?). We thought 'fast food' was what you ate at Lent, a 'Big Mac' was an over sized raincoat. and 'crumpet' we had for tea. We existed before househusbands, computer dating, dual careers, and when a 'meaningful relationship'meant getting along with your cousins and when 'sheltered accommodation' was where you waited for a bus. we were before day‑care centers, group homes and disposable nappies.we never heard of FM radio., tape decks, electric typewriters. artificial hearts, word processors, yogurt and young men wearing earrings. For us 'time sharing'meant togetherness, a 'chip' was a piece of wood or a peeled potato, hardware meant nuts and bolts, and software wasn't a word, Made in Japan 'meant Junk, the term 'making out referred to how you did in...
Caveat Emptor
It kind of came to mind today. When I read a magazine I usually skip the ads. It actually is as if they're not there most of the time. But today I had some time to .. well waste LOL So I looked at one, then another .... nothing new of course, but it got me thinking and the title of this discussion was the first thing popping to mind. Sure it has deeper or more specif meanings. Ads are not necessarily selling stolen goods or anything like that, but buyer beware was pretty much on my mind. By now, people should be able to see through the fog, but apparently it's not always so. Here's some examples of what i saw: - If you use our product your hair will look healthier in just a few days! - spot the key word?- Our company has been in business since 1936.- listed as one of the best products in the market today.- Our best experts improved this formula just for you.- Proved the most efficient in all our tests.- Can compare to any other product of its kind even the more expensive ones. And on... and on.... THey sure can protect themselves. It's easy to make my hair LOOK healthier, thankfully they don't claim it will BE healthier, because that's a bit more...
Daylight Savings Time Actually Increases Utility Bills
A recurring issue in the pros and cons of going on Daylight Savings Time have been argued over for the last 3 decades. Now it seems that a new study has irrefutable proof that the transition to DST is not beneficial in helping to conserve energy, but increases the cost to consumers of utilities. In an article on Yahoo I found the following information: http://tech.yahoo.com/blog/null/83073. If this information is correct wouldn't we all be better served by observing a standard and uniform time rather than the constant jumping back and forth to DST? One very important fact that was brought forward in the article was that any benefits that might be gained by these measures are lost in the higher usage of running air conditioners, etc.
Air conditioning... do you really need it?
[em]confused[/em] In our daily life, we will definitely be in some air-conditioned environment. Be it in a shopping center, or the office, or even the car you are traveling in.In view of the earth day that everyone is preaching about, is it possible to live a day without air-conditioning?Here in tropical Singapore, we are using the air-conditioners to cool the rooms to escape from the heat, which can be quite unbearable at times. My father has this habit of turning on the air-conditioner and then covering a thick blanket so that he can sleep snugly in the comforts of his cold room. I am sure he is not alone in doing it.Then in the office, the building has the habit of lowering the temperature of the air-conditioning really low... sometimes as low as 18-21 degrees celsius. And to some, that is frigging cold! And people working in those offices are wearing really think jackets to keep the cold out.It always gets me thinking... if you are feeling hot and bothered by the heat, I understand that you would want to turn on the air-conditioner to cool off. But after turning on the air-conditioner, you cover a blanket? Wear a jacket? What is the purpose of turning on...
Somebody Hire Me.
I am 44 and and the employers are making me feel like I have fallen into the grave already. I have done a lot of work in the manufacturing business and in a call center. Most recent work was doing buying for commercial air conditioners. Well, layoff time came around and I got it. I have seen teenagers get work when I can't. Just five years ago, if I put my resume out, I would get called constantly, now I cannot get a phone call or even a reply from the employer saying they received my resume'. The bad thing is I am a really hard worker. I learn extremely fast and I am very good with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point. I type fast, have great organizational skills, supervisory experience and great administrative skills. I do not have a degree, but I did start taking some online classes when my last employer paid for it. I feel like I am a has been. Somebody give me a break. I have several good years left in me.
The best time to buy . . . anything
Did you know that airlines change their fare schedule three times a day? Or that cars are more likely to be a bargain at the end of the month? If you're waiting until your refrigerator gasps out its last breath of cold air to shop for a new one, you could be missing out on a chance for big savings. Timing your purchases to coincide with manufacturer discounts, clearance sales and off-season discounts will take out the stress of finding a good price on almost anything. We spoke with a few experts to get the inside scoop on the best times of the year to shop.Air conditioners Best time: winterCommon sense prevails in the air-conditioner market, according to Diane Ritchey, editor of Home Appliance Magazine. "Think about when they're most in use: May through September. People feel the heat and they start to buy. The stock gets depleted, the demand is higher and so is the price. When cool weather comes around, most people just aren't into air conditioner purchasing, so the demand drops, as does the price," she says.Big appliances Best time: September and OctoberJust like the fall clothing influx, new models of major appliance models such as ranges and...
Do you have Astma? if you do tel me the symtoms you have?
I have Astma, I didn't find out I had it untill I was about 43, I hate to be around smoke, and when I am around Air conditioners It triggers my Astma, have you ever heard of this. Any time I am around Air conditioners I just start coughing, and strong perfume triggers it too. tell me what triggers yours, and sometimes I will get nausea when coughing. In the summer it really takes a toll on me. Tell me your symtoms? My eyes water some times. My Grandson has it, my grandaughter has it. My Son had it. He's deceased now but but of his kids have it.

for those born some time ago
