| When is the right time to put the AC in???? | | I live in good old Boston, MA! Here it is May 8 and I'm still looking at my AC sitting on the floor in my living room. I've decided that next year it's staying in the window instead of going through all of that work of taking it in and out every year. I'm no always the sharpest knife in the set!
Living in Boston is a real coin toss as far as the weather is concerned but I'm thinking this HAS to be the beginning of spring/summer. We seldom get spring weather and go right into summer but like I said we never know around here. Today it was almost 80 degrees outside but the humidity wasn't bad. The rest of the week is supposed to be in the low 70's and that's not too hard to handle.
I think by the end of this week I should have someone get that old AC up and working before it gets too late.
If your AC is not in the window all year when do you decide to put it in? Do you wait until it's almost to the boiling point and it's essential or as soon as the nice weather sets in? | |
| | do you have electric fan in your house? yes? how many? | | weee! I love the wind. the soft air that it gives off, it refreshen everyones day! it makes the hot head of a person cool. It straightens the forehead of a person with a problem.ah, so much for the fan definition. now we go to the real question. how many fans do you have? in our house we have 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9. oh we had 9 mighty fans that help us out throughout the day. I love fan more than aircon. I grew up with the fan and I will die with the fan ha ha!I can't sleep without fan. I really need it badly ha ha! Now, I can see the good side of it just like what I mention above right? so now its your time to answer..:) | |
| | How Many Showers is Too Many? | | Lately I have been showering at least twice a day. But, there are times when I want to jump in again. The hot, humid weather makes me feel sticky and yucky. A quick blast of a tepid shower seems to help. But, is it okay to shower 3x a day?Now that we have our pool up I can hop in it when I get home from work to cool down. That would save on water too. I just don't want to have my skin dry out from over exposure to the water. | |

| | does your cat love air conditioners? | | My own is irresistibly attracted by the air conditioners, even when we have cut his fur he loves fresh air and he is not afraid of the sounds coming from the device.
When the air conditioner is off he points it and meows to us hoping we set it on. | |
| | Fan on or off while sleeping? | | This is a big argument between me and my spouse some evenings. He likes to have a fan on him when sleeping at night, even though we have A/C. I prefer not to have a fan blowing right on me. I've had problems with getting ear infections, and the doctor has said this might promote me getting them. My husband doesn't believe it because he doesn't get them. Do you have a fan blowing on you when you go to bed? | |
| | Don't use AIRCONS!!?? | | Do not use air conditioners cause:*the dust in the room just circulates...??(according to the guest of a watched show)...maybe even if the place is open dust is still there!!??right??*and it really contributes to CFC's..chlorofluorocarbons*Viruses are easily be transmitted through air- cause of the temp.Do use air conditioners cause:*when in used it changes the temperature in th room from hot to cold...*it just change the temp?***but the whole process still contributes to CFC's!!!
***Always clean the filters...
***As much as possible(for me^^), Lessen as in lessen the use of your aircons and just open the windows!!^^but, do you think using aircons have less effect in our body system and environment???or not???

| | | What do you wear use or do to keep you cool when the heat is unbearable outside? | | Today is going to be a scorcher here where I live. It is suppose to reach 95 degrees. I Have a plan to keep all my curtains drawn today and right now it is nice and cool in my home. I know later when the temperature peaks to 95 degrees or more then I will be turning on both air conditioners and three fans in here. Any thing I need to get done out doors will be getting done before noon. I will have my shorts and a tank top on also.
What are some of the things you do to keep your home cool? How about keeping your self cool? If you have to be outside in the heat is there anything you do like wear a straw hat or carry around a spray bottle to mist yourself?
Maybe you wear a headband or bandanna to catch the sweat?
